Rawmarsh lies around two miles to the north of Rotherham town centre. The area is bisected by the busy A633 corridor which runs from north to south from Rotherham to Wath and Swinton, because of this key gateway the public transport system is good with numerous bus routes running through Rawmarsh from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Meadowhall.

Rawmarsh also benefits from the community facilities in neighbouring Parkgate which include a library and Neighbourhood office and the shopping at the nearby retail world. The area benefits from easy access to countryside and green spaces. The range of housing in the area includes terraced, semi detached and bungalows.

Parkgate

Parkgate lies around two miles to the north of Rotherham town centre. Parkgate has an infant and junior school, with older students attending the comprehensive at Rawmarsh. Parkgate also benefits from many of the services offered in Rawmarsh. The areas benefits from access to local countryside although it has a more industrial landscape than its neighbour Rawmarsh.
